Sponsored by the Des Moines Register. RAGBRAI is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state of Iowa. It is the “oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world.”
RAGBRAI XLII takes place from July 20-26, 2014. Cyclists from all 50 states, as well as many foreign countries, will ride 406.6 miles from Iowa’s western border on the Missouri River to the eastern border on the Mississippi River. Participants will receive a warm welcome from communities along the route, eight of which will serve as “host” communities for overnight stays.
